Life is forever a roller coaster. For people who haven’t experienced depression, it might sound like an excuse to give up on hard times by a weak person. We all have entirely different stories, some of us might have the normal personal and financial issues. On other hand there are people who go through problems That are a million times deeper than ours.
domestic violence, harassment, loneliness, parental or family issues, heartbreaks, abuses or other incidents can affect one’s mental health.Being a survivor of depression. let me tell you what I should have done or did during those times.
Consult a psychologist
The time I went through depression was terrible. I couldn’t smile or laugh, couldn’t even look at people. But I am and I was strong enough to think that half the bravery to attempt suicide is what you need to go forward and overcome problems.
Searched on Google for a nearby good psychologist fixed an appointment with her. I told her everything I was going through, cried a lot, but while leaving the room I was so relieved and it felt good. I was pretty sure about facing everything going around in my life with utmost courage. Majority of people don’t prefer going to a psychologist they are so narrow minded even after being educated. It’s like they don’t even consider brain as a body part & mind also needs a doctor, that doesn’t means you are crazy. When you can’t discuss something with people around, it’s great that you have qualified doctors to discuss with. At this point of life, I can assure you that I am proud that I survived depression and it made me stronger than before.
While going on through depression consider taking care and loving yourself more. Do things that make your feel calm and cool. Have a great haircut, go for shopping, try skin care routine, basically stay beautiful. When you once realize the fact that it’s you whom you need the most in this world, once you start realizing how valuable you are, you won’t let anyone or anything hurt you. Just do things you love the most.
Take a break.
If you are a student try to take a few days off, stay in a different place away from parents and classmates with the permission of your parents. It is best if you have grandparents house. For independent people, it’s best to take a solo trip. Solo trips are the most challenging and makes you proud about being independent.
Engage in your favorite activities
Engage yourself in different activities like gardening, workouts, dancing, cleaning, etc.. I didn’t tried these when I was going on through depression. I used to sit in a corner, think about everything and weep all the time. But it’s great to spend time with flowers and plants. They make moments of life beautiful and simple. Plant everyday, take care of the flowers and leaves it will bring smile to your face. Workout itself is a way of converting rage and anger into positivity and self love it makes you stronger and beautiful.
Get a pet
A pet can make your life cute and happier. You will start getting busy as you will feel like being a parent. Take them out for walks play with them, then you will understand how silly I am to weep while I have choices and chances waiting on the course of my life.
