Sometimes you need to just sit back, take a deep breath and figure out what you really want to do with your life. but it is quite tough when you have relatives and neighbors asking about your monthly income and future plans. Does it really matters or create any issues in their personal or professional life. It is definitely a big ‘NO’. Its great if you are passionate & you wanna create not so simple but different story out of your life. If you are meant to be different, stay different. For some people, it takes time to realize what they want to become. So it’s important to learn new things and keep discovering about yourself.
But being Indian one thing I adore about Western countries is that kids after graduation can live independently, they can work, travel & explore new things to make their career, but it’s totally opposite here in India. Especially when your belong to a small town & have parents who care more about the outsider’s judgement than their own children.
Some people take the quote, ‘life is a race’ too seriously. ‘Whose children is better in studies’, ‘who looks better’, ‘who earns more’, ‘why he or she is not getting married’, ‘Why is she coming so late after work?’,& I know for a fact that gossips between friend’s circle is fun, but make sure you never crosses the line. Don’t quit and stay strong when you hear those comments.
It doesn’t matter if you are middle class, poor, married, young or whatever. All you need is will power. Remember we live in a world of great personalities like Stephen Hawkings, Helen Keller, Albert Einstein and many more who were physically challenged. My all time favorite writer is Paulo Coelho, he keeps his writings simple, so that everyone can get connected to what he wanna convey through his stories. Every single pages of his book contains something inspiring and magnificent.
So if confused in-between what you do & what you want to become, be bold to take some strong decisions. Just work on it until it happens. It might take time but some dreams are worth waiting for. It’s never too late to follow your dreams, keep learning, accept challenges and most importantly don’t be afraid to fail. Let them talk but you do what you are meant to do.
I don’t prefer a position where i would be waiting for Sundays & public holidays, & that’s a simple but great difference between doing job & following your passion.
